Kyoto

Kyoto is an ancient capital of Japan and attracts many tourists all over the world. "Sanjo Ohashi" is the bridge over the picturesque Kamo River in Kyoto.
Toyotomi Hideyoshi, the chancellor of the Momoyama period, built Sanjo Ohashi. In the Edo period, it was the terminal of the Tokaido and a lot of tourists crossed this bridge. People saw the leaving tourists off at the eastern end of the bridge and received them at the western end of the bridge. There used to be inns or teahouses on both sides of the bridge.
Now, this area creates a classic atmosphere, and is lively with many people. In spring, you can stroll along the Kamo River while viewing beautiful cherry blossom.
